Pile Yard Height and Weight, Cut and Loop, and Multilevel Carpet Styles
Weight and Pile Height The length of the yarn threads, or pile height, in carpeting has a big impact on the look, feel, and longevity of the carpet. While greater pile heights (like 1 inch) offer a softer, plusher feel but may be more difficult to clean, shorter pile heights (like 1/4 inch) are usually more resilient and appropriate for high-traffic areas.
