Padding Types and Characteristics

1. Rebond Padding (6-Ounce and 8-Ounce)

Rebond padding is made from recycled foam materials, offering an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for padding. Available in varying densities (6-ounce and 8-ounce), it provides medium cushioning, durability, and compression resistance. This type of padding is ideal for applications requiring long-lasting support at an affordable price.



2. Synthetic Horsehair Pads

Synthetic horsehair pads are designed to replicate the characteristics of real horsehair using synthetic fibers. These pads offer a firm and breathable cushion that maintains its shape over time. Often used in upholstery, synthetic horsehair provides a cost-effective alternative to real horsehair, ensuring long-term durability and support with a comfortable feel.



3. Real Horsehair Pads

Real horsehair pads are made from actual horsehair fibers, often combined with cotton or wool.     I liked all of your pictures and how you divided each section into small paragraphs. I appreciate how you added a conclusion at the end to note like how horsehair is considered high-end!

Research Initiatives: Week 14 INT 323 Eva Serrato Carpet Tile Installation: For carpet tile installation you first have to make sure that the sub floor is in the correct condition and any sort of padding is installed beforehand. There are different patterns that need to be decided before installation starts. After this is decided then how the tiles will be planned when they intersect a doorway or a corner and this can be decided by a dry lay which is laying the carpets down before they are glued. Then the tiles need to acclimate to the humidity of the room. Then the adhesive is placed, either a peel and stick or a direct glue down.
