Wall to Wall Tufted Carpet:

Wall to wall tufted carpet usually starts with a durable backing that is made of polypropylene or polyester that than gets the fibers inserted in then with tiny needles. A machine carefully places all the fibers in the backing and creates a full carpet. The different fibers that can be used are nylon which is great for stain resistance, polyester for a soft feel, or wool for the insulation properties, or a blend of them all. Once the fibers are picked out for the construction of the carpet, the fibers are then tested and treated with the rights treatments such as heating and twisting to get them in the correct configuration for tufting to begin and the machine to poke them through the backing. Once tufting is done then the secondary backing is places on as a thick adhesive combining the yarn fibers and the backing to fuse together.

Carpet Tile:

Construction of Carpet Tile usually starts with the size of a 48x48 to 60x60 or in planks as well. The carpets are made from a broadloom carpet that can be any type of fiber and can have any type of construction type and pattern. Then the backing is placed on the bottom of the broadloom carpet. There are a variety of different types of backings that can be applied such as, hard backing, closed cell cushion and open cell cushion backing. The backings applied to carpet tiles make them ready to be installed on site with minimal installation construction.
