This class has been really helpful and I can already see how it’ll benefit me in the future. The part that will stick with me the most is learning about the different fabric types and what they’re best used for. The textiles binder was super helpful because I could actually see and feel all the different fabrics, which made everything a lot easier to understand. My biggest "Aha" moment was when we visited Brentano. It was such a great experience and gave me a better understanding of how the textiles industry works. I think other students would benefit from this experience too because it was so eye-opening and gave us real-world insight into the industry.

Research Initiatives: Week 14 INT 323 Eva Serrato Carpet Tile Installation: For carpet tile installation you first have to make sure that the sub floor is in the correct condition and any sort of padding is installed beforehand. There are different patterns that need to be decided before installation starts. After this is decided then how the tiles will be planned when they intersect a doorway or a corner and this can be decided by a dry lay which is laying the carpets down before they are glued. Then the tiles need to acclimate to the humidity of the room. Then the adhesive is placed, either a peel and stick or a direct glue down. Usually starting in the middle of the room to the outside would be most efficient.  Carpet tiles can show more seams; however the installation can be easier as well as the repair can be cheaper that wall to wall because the individual tile can be removed.   Personal Blog/ Special Considerations INT 323   Eva Serrato   My name is Eva Serrato and I am Senior at Judson University. I am on the women's Cross county and Track team.
