Rebond:
Rebond is one of the most popular paddings to use today. The reason for this is because it is made from high density urethane scraps from various pieces of furniture which then gets fused together and manufactured into a padding. The benefit of this padding is it comes in many densities and thicknesses. There is a 6 ounce and an 8-ounce rebond padding that related to the density and how well it does not crush. Some negative effects of rebond can be the chemicals added to the padding can be harmful to human bodies and the chemical can create turn the carpet yellow.
Synthetic Horsehair Pads:
This type of padding is not usually used in rooms that of are of no importance. This type of padding can be really hard and dense; however, the cost can be inexpensive but can make the floor less comfortable. Using natural fibers can also tend to smell and hold and odor.
Felt Pads:
Felt padding is good for large area rugs as they are not meant for carpet padding because they are not as durable as rubber, foam, and rebond. This type of padding is perfect for under rugs to give the right amount of padding and it preserves the floor and rug with its soft feel.
Rubber Pads:
Rubber padding is known to be an extremely luxurious pad that lasts for a long time; however, the padding can be pricey and expensive for some jobs and people. The carpet will last for years and is durable, so sometimes it can be worth the investment
Foam Pads:
There are many types of foam padding, from frothed, to memory, to prime and waffle, all these types have their own benefits to them such as resilience and durability. Depending on the density and type of foam pads, these pads can be crush resistant and last a long time. Some negative effects can be that the type of foam can be too flexible and soft and may crumble.
