Carbon Leadership Forum:
The Carbon Leadership Forum is an organization that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by researching and collaborating with architects, designers, and engineers to help minimalize the amount of greenhouse gas emissions (embodied carbon) coming from materials that buildings use. Their goal is to get the embodied carbon down to zero. According to their website, their mission is, "to eliminate embodied carbon of buildings, materials, and infrastructure to create a just and thriving future." Carbon Leadership Forum partners with anyone that is involved in the major segment when it comes to architecture and interior design. Their four pillars of focus for their organization is, research, resources, network, and initiatives. The main objectives this organization does is promote and invest in research to help promote the knowledge of embodied carbon. They also come up with solutions and work together with designers and producers to help create zero embodied carbon.
Architecture 2030:
The organization Architecture 2030 created a challenge back in 2005 called the 2030 challenge. This challenge goal was to have zero carbon emissions in all new buildings and renovations by 2030. Project 2030 aims to have all firms have zero carbon emissions with all their projects. How Architecture 2030 plans to achieve this goal is they have set up a 2030 district network that is a group of "23 private-sector-led, high performance urban building districts across North America. 2030 Districts are led by the private sector, with local building industry leaders, community groups, and government to achieve significant energy, water, and emissions reductions."(architecture2030) There is another challenge that Architecture 2030 has developed called the "The 2030 Challenge for Embodied Carbon" and this challenge collaborates with the Carbon Leadership Community to create a "attribute-based approach to embodied carbon emissions reductions for major building elements that will guide building design and construction, and government procurement policies."(architecture2030)
Health Building Network:
Health Building Network is an organization that focuses on bettering the health of people and the planet by taking steps to create safer and healthier products and materials. They state that as of today we have crossed 6 of the 9 planetary boundaries that help keep our planet safe and healthy. They aim to research and educate people and help stop climate change and pollution by products and materials. How they aim to stop this problem is chemical guiding and product guiding. They have created a database called Pharos which helps detect the different chemicals that are harmful to our planet and humans. Their product called Informed helps show people and designers harmful building materials and gives them healthier options to choose.
