Architecture 2030 

Architecture 2030 is a non-profit organization aimed at addressing climate change by transforming the built environment. Their primary goal is to achieve a carbon-neutral building sector by 2030. They advocate for innovative design and construction practices that reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Architecture 2030 provides resources, guidelines, and tools to support architects, builders, and policy makers in implementing sustainable practices and improving energy efficiency in buildings. 

 

Health Building Network 

The “Chemical Guidance” section of The Habitable Future’s website focuses on promoting the use of safer, non-toxic chemicals in building materials and products. It provides guidance and resources to help architects, builders, and designers choose materials that minimize health risks and environmental impact. The goal is to encourage the adoption of safer chemicals to improve indoor air quality and overall environmental sustainability in construction and design. 

The “Product Guidance” section of The Habitable Future’s website focuses on selecting and using building products that are environmentally friendly and promote healthier indoor environments. It provides recommendations and criteria for choosing products that have lower environmental impacts, reduce harmful emissions, and contribute to overall sustainability. The goal is to help architects, designers, and builders make informed decisions that enhance the safety and ecological footprint of their projects.

Research Initiatives: Week 14 INT 323 Eva Serrato Carpet Tile Installation: For carpet tile installation you first have to make sure that the sub floor is in the correct condition and any sort of padding is installed beforehand. There are different patterns that need to be decided before installation starts. After this is decided then how the tiles will be planned when they intersect a doorway or a corner and this can be decided by a dry lay which is laying the carpets down before they are glued. Then the tiles need to acclimate to the humidity of the room. Then the adhesive is placed, either a peel and stick or a direct glue down.
