#1-Bethany Snyder
Hi My Name is Bethany Ann Snyder
I grew up in Washinton state and I absolutely love it there! I have a big family that is a huge part of my life. I got married last summer and my last name changed from Huizinga to Snyder. My family has now grown to twice its size and I could not be happier about it! And I think this love for my family actually contributed to my love for design. I have always loved spaces. I love that when you walk into a room it instantly evokes a feeling. The feelings that I want spaces I design to evoke are peace and comfort, I feel these most when I am surrounded by my family. I love making people feel like they are at home even if they are at someone else home or a business. I love the idea of working in old homes to renovate them to become someone's forever home where they will raise their family and make memories. My hope is to work in residential interior design but if I were going to do commercial I would do hospitality, so even when people are away from their homes they feel peaceful.
Current LEED initiatives
According to the US Green Building Council, LEED v5 is the next version of an in-depth framework for Green Buildings. It says, "Embracing market demands for greater accountability, v5 will champion solutions to align the built environment with critical imperatives including decarbonization, ecosystem conservation and restoration, equity, health, and resilience. LEED v5 will drive real-world impact and positive change worldwide." LEED v5 focuses on 3 main areas. The first one is Decarbonization. They plan to do this by trying to reduce the carbon footprint through restrictions on operational, embodied, refrigerants, and transport emissions. Many articles are saying that this is the main cause of LEED v5. But the second area is also very important, it is, is quality of life. Through this, they are sinking to give users of the building an enhanced experience because the building through the requirements LEED v5 gives. The last area is Ecological conservation and restoration. They are empowering strategies that limit the degradation of the environment and stages that contribute to the ecosystem rather than taking away from it. With this new version, they also wanted to make the user experience better. They did this by using, " a new dynamic digital interface, as well as tools and resources to provide flexibility for projects and evolve rating system requirements."
Still can'e believe that you got married. CONGRATULATIONS! And it looks like you also found the version 5 of LEED so we both found similar things!
