#1- Katie Rozeboom
Katie Rozeboom Introduction
Hello! My name is Katie Rozeboom, and I am from Schoolcraft, MI. I chose Interior Design as my major because I've always loved being creative, arranging things, and picking out colors that go together. I am interested specifically in Residential design. I have taken online courses before. I can be successful in this class if the assignments are clearly laid out and very specific about what is required.
Current LEED Initiatives
The most current LEED version is LEED v5. According to the USGBC, this version's rating system and approach have significantly changed. This shift has been the largest structural reorganization of the system since v2009. Its main goal is to align the LEED rating system with current industry practices and to address today's climate crisis. The guiding principles of LEED v5 are as follows:
- Decarbonization: "Decarbonize the building industry swiftly to reflect the urgency of the climate crisis"
- Resilience: "Inspire and recognize adaptive and resilient built environments"
- Health: "Invest in human health and well-being"
- Equitable Outcomes: "Create environments in which diversity, equity, and inclusivity thrive"
- Ecosystems: "Support flourishing ecosystems through regenerative development practices"
I love that you choose a major that you can play to your strengths. Also, I like how you explained the LEED initiatives with bullet points and direct quotes. Your information was clear and thorough!
